The first show I had watched and finished,, while there's obviously aspects that haven't aged well I hold Ouran close to my heart :) Have only watched it once so the next time I do will be special ☆
the lil GX figures on both ends had appeared in and out of my childhood for years multiple times in different places, despite never owning them myself,,.finally got them >:)
these were at value village all together in 2020 and i was with my friends . had only just started watching anime at that point and didn't wanna be cringe and get them... but when i went back two days later they were completely gone and a month later those exact sets were on facebook marketplace for 200 DOLLARS!!!!!! and little does the seller know i'm coming to his house in a week to Slime him
RACING ANIME
Ouran was the very first show I watched, but was influenced and watched with a friend. With beginning to watch shit on my own I wanted to start with a niche ass subgenre..,.wasn't starting with Cowboy Bebop or JOJO's Bizzare Butthole or any of that wanky ass shit!!!!!
jojo's tickle adventure
Somehow gravitated to old racing anime; not in space or any sort of fantasy setting but with normal ass people driving automobiles. Admittedly there is not a lot of the sense of racing I was looking for :P but I digress. This lead me to watching Bari Bari Densetsu which was literally exactly what I was looking for- and I enjoyed it a lot!! Good rad lil story and made by the same guy that made Initial D like hell yes
SPEAKING OF Initial D.....probably the most obvious pick and I absolutely mean to watch it soon ,,o o,, looks really really fucking cool and literally everything I want from a y2k animu (also that eurobeat...,.and I dig the hell outta that old cg).

VHS fansubs are fucking cool; such a sense of community attached to their history and made out of pure passion. while i'd love to have ones for the anime i like, they're fairly difficult to come by. so i make my own sometimes :-)
big part of it is capturing those homemade vibes- but they're mostly for having a physical copy when they don't have an eng sub already on tape or dvd. would be very v cool to have at least one real fansub eventually.. ggrrrr
