Hello hello!! It's James :^)
I was a Five Nights at Freddy's fan as of September 2014.. I kept up with every game and even made my own animatronics out of oscilating fans and the old Sanshee masks. It's now been a while since I've thoroughly kept up with the games, finding new interests as I've grown UP, but FNaF is always gonna be apart of me. I still have a deep respect for these characters and I don't think they will ever truly leave me as long as I still enjoy old weird shit, something that started because of that first game and those characters. I have Five Nights at Freddy's to thank for who I am today.
Thank you to blah and blah and blah. TALK ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED YOU FIRST
This alone, however, hadn't pushed me to pursue this project. It's a personal itch that's been unscratched for me since the beginning
Ever since the first game I had been interested in the fictitious Freddy Fazbear's Pizza as it exists in the game's world. I was introduced to Showbiz Pizza almost immediately following my interest in the first game, becoming fascinated with both their history and Chuck E Cheese's, and this made me always gravitate towards fanworks that adapted the characters and restaurant in a way similar to those real world places it was inspired from. Whether it be fake promotional art of the characters, restaurant logos or commercials advertising the location as if it actually existed. Though what I wanted to see the most was something that seemed to be quite obvious, and it was something the games never fully fulfilled despite being the contrast to its horror elements- Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy were animatronics that were built to sing songs and entertain children as they moved around onstage. This is an aspect that has never been fully presented to the potential I think it has.
Fanworks have made attempts of this since the very beginning, Mr. Creepypasta's first voice acted FNaF skit being the earliest and one of the most renowned attempts for older fans. However it had also set trends that other fanworks and eventually the official games would follow, such as the characters' voices skipping to emphasize them being aging, faulty machines, or their speech being suddenly interrupted with the ghost child inhabiting them to spook things up a bit. FNaF animatronics, at the end of the day, are parodies of the real world entertainment bots they reflect; these traits are arguably fitting as exaggerations much like their segmented limbs or unrealistic mech designs. But most real bots certainly don't exhibit these, each with their own logical reason as to why :y and as much as I shouldn't be gunning to an expectation of this type of realism from Five Nights at Freddy's I think I'd be able to accept this more if the series itself didn't get so close to what I've been wanting to see for so long. I don't have much ground to criticize the scrapped Showtime song from Help Wanted, as what was found had never been intended to be presented. But it's hard to see what could've been done to fix it while staying under the direction it was taking.. it kinda just feels phoney- being almost too tongue in cheek with what it's supposed to be recreating. The FNaF movie also depicted a show performance but only with the characters lip syncing an 80's needle drop!!! Which a real animatronic band doesn't do for obvious copyright reasons bleggghhhg (under most circumstances). Of all the criticisms to be had with that movie I think one of the things it could've greatly benefitted from was unique characterization of each bot....... character voice acting and a unique show performance would've lended itself to this well. The aspect of them entertaining kids is just as important as them being haunted killer robots and the series is built upon this contrast, yet it's somehow escaped showing the former for years even when it moved from an indie game series by one guy to being the mogul it is now. Some of the first words spoken about the animatronics are how they've sung "those same stupid songs for 40 years".... we arguably haven't heard a one. We don't even HAVE A CONSISTENT VOICE FOR FREDDY FAZBEAR!!!!!

I wanted to portray these characters by how I see them in my mind's eye, with voices and personalities. I don't want to make them Showbiz Pizza characters and I don't want to make them too close to Chuck E Cheese either- The Fazbear Pack is as similar to any one animatronic band as any of them are to each other. Circus World Jamboree to the Jammin' Jesters, the Dimes n Critter's band to Fuzzy Wuzzy's Wizard Wonderland, so on and so forth. How they look, talk and perform should be their own deal even if they are just another cheap raggedy animatronic show from the 80's. ((When these qualities are accounted for I think the things that can be brought from them could be uniquely endearing)).
Freddy's band identity from the first game is quite quaint and mostly made up of animals you'd find in a forest- comprised of a bear, bunny and chicken, with a fox alongside them too. It's always been easily drawn from Bonnie's guitar and other real bot bands that they'd play some sort of rock music but for the longest time I never thought of what exactly it would be like. The band isn't very flashy, they're very humble in how they look and present. Mom and pop restaurant vibes.. how cheap and sorta shabby they are definitely contribute to this. Quite a few fan adaptions take these vibes and sway it towards a southern country direction, extending to the characters' voices, though I wanted to bring it into a more like. Folky campfire country direction ala The Raccoons with a mix of 60's-70's rock among other shit.... you could even say old Canadian direction. I can't explain my song choices better than them just being old weird songs that feel right to me under this loose theming (and wanting them to play some Beach Boys). Two Little Kittens is a century old poem in the public domain but I think it'd be cool if they turned that into a kinda plinky plonky rock song ala Brad Ross's rendition.
Freddy commands attention and respect, being shown to be quite smart in the behavior he exhibits along with the top hat and bowtie he wears. He takes the leader role well because of all these traits.. though this doesn't mean he's all business as he's earnestly performing to children at the end of the day, which takes a warm good soul. blah blah blah olivr hardy fits the bill while being unique blh blah iron horse cinemas video. Both Chica and Foxy's characterizations were very closely inspired by the interpretations of the band found in this video, of which I still hold close to my heart. I think Chica being a loud mouthed middle aged lady with the heart of a child is perfectly endearing, as well as Foxy being an old shy weathered pirate that recounts his stories rather than being boisterous or an especially hearty singer. The video was also a strong factor that pushed me to embrace the low budget vibesblah blah
These characters will always be interpreted differently depending on who's hands they're in but I hope you enjoy how they are here.
